Prior to launching The Experience Project we had a list of topics that we wanted to cover. And as that list grew, we realized that everything fell into one of three categories — The Gear, The Hunt, and The Hunter.

The Gear category will include unbiased, experience-based, in-depth analysis of the gear needed for demanding backcountry hunts.

When it comes to Gear, there is so much we can talk about. Not only because there is a lot of gear required for backpack-style, backcountry hunting adventures, but also because we personally have a lot of experience with many different individual items within any single gear category we could choose to talk about. Whether you want to talk about big gear categories (such as footwear or shelters) or smaller gear categories (such as water filters or trekking poles), we have tried and tested numerous products in any given category.

Not only will we go into depth on specific gear categories (such as clothing), we will also be sharing our complete gear lists for the hunts we are undertaking as part of The Experience Project this fall, and then will have post-hunt debriefs and reviews after the hunting season.

Finally, but most importantly, we have zero partnership, sponsorship, or ties to any of the companies or products that we will be discussing when it comes to The Gear. The Experience Project is 100% independent, and we will not hold back from sharing our honest opinions and experiences with The Gear we use.

If you have any specific topics, questions, or suggestions for what you would like us to cover in The Gear, be sure to let us know.
